Who’s Alfred and who’s William?
Will I get to meet them?
Sadly not. I named the firm after my two granddads. Two men I’m immensely proud to have known.
Alfred was my Mum’s father, he was a bit of a gambler and once owned a bookies. He also flew a Spitfire and took Mum up in one when she was 15. Jealous.
William, my Dad’s father was as straight-laced as they come and repeatedly used the phrase “if you’re going to do a job, do it properly”. He was a Draftsman and worked on the plans for HMS Belfast which you can see moored on The River Thames in London today.
This mix of characteristics seems apt for what is primarily a digital marketing firm. Let’s be honest, a day in marketing is a day at the casino but it helps if you have a strategy and know how to play the game.
